The Camel fibre is combed from the underdown of the baby Bactrian Camel during the molting season in Spring. Each adult camel produces approx. 2.5kg of down per year. The fibre staple is long and strong with resistance to felting and not very elastic. It is warm without the bulk and very soft approx. 17-19micron. The baby down varies from white to fawn and is softer and lighter than the adult Camel. The unique properties of Camel fibre include, non -allergenic, breathable, lightweight, strong, warm and comfortable to wear.
This yarn has all the above properties with obvious stitch definition and strength which is extremely good natural sock yarn and can be used in the warp in weaving.
