The Association for Craft Producers (ACP) is a non-profit trade organisation that provides design, marketing, management, and technical services to low income, predominantly women, Nepalese craft producers. Meera Bhatterai founded ACP in 1984 with a vision to pay women directly, teach them how to price their work so as not to be exploited in the market and ultimately to give women a greater voice.
Today, because of ACP, nearly 1000 women from 15 districts in Nepal have the opportunity to become more financially independent and have gained more credibility in their communities through the production of their crafts.

Wheel Thrown Ceramics:
The Artisans at A.C.P. (Association for craft producers) create more for Ochre Yarn than hand knitted and woven products. These include products in metal, paper, felt and ceramics.
The ceramic department support the Artisans in creating contemporary designs in red, stone and white clay having great success with their product at ‘Ambient’ (exhibition in Paris 2019 under the fair trade banner).

Ochre Yarn’s signature coffee mug was designed last year and has had continued success in 2019 with the addition of the Ochre mug and Vase, also used for storage of knitting equipment
