We’re particularly excited about this workshop: Natural Dyeing with Australian Native and Garden Plants.
If you have ever wanted to try your hand at natural dyeing, but didn’t know where to begin, this 2 day workshop will get you started. You will be able to make a selection of sample prints and colour swatches using a variety of natural plant material, including eucalypts and popular garden plants.
You will learn how to collect plant material from sustainable sources and safely prepare that material for the dye bath, to give all-over colour. You will also create more complex and unique layered prints for fabric. We will cover how to mordant cellulose and protein fibres and fabrics and how to care for them once dyed. You will also learn some very useful tips and techniques for bundling larger fabrics and garments.
